Knowing what trimming a boat implies and how to do it correctly helps enhance its performance and fuel efficiency. Trim is the vessel's running angle as it moves through the water; when we modify the trim, we raise or lower the bow (the front of the boat). A toggle button on the control lever or the dash is well-used to control the trim. The optimal trim setting will be a bit of a compromise; if the trim is set too high, the boat may struggle to get on a plane, while if it is set too low, the bow will plow while the boat is on the plane.
Key Features:
- The trim system uses hydraulic rams to adjust the angle of the outboard motor or sterndrive gearcase relative to the boat transom through a range of around 20 degrees.
