A zinc anode is a sacrificial anode used to prevent corrosion in cathodic protection systems. It's also a galvanic anode, comparable to the aluminum or magnesium galvanic anodes. A zinc anode's protective powers are owing to its negative reduction potential, which is lower than the metal it protects. Metal-corroding oxidants will oxidize the zinc anode rather than the protected metal framework, preventing corrosion. Sacrificial anodes are materials that leak electrons, allowing the anode to slowly corrode in place of the more negatively charged metal in use.

Key Features:

  • Because zinc is a highly active metal that may be an offering, it is an excellent candidate for a sacrificial anode.

  • It's made for inboard engines.

  • Diameter is 1-7/8"; Second Dimension is 1/4"

  • The Nominal Weight is 0.20 lbs

  • Each box contains one rudder anode.

  • Constructed of durable Zinc material
