This product is similar to our sealing ring(471629), But this O ring is a circular ring-shaped seal. All Volvo Penta diesel compact engines' D1-13, D1-20, D1-30, and D2-40 heat exchangers should be removed and cleaned every 5 years.
Otherwise, the end caps may begin to drip and corrode the casting. End caps should be inspected and new o rings installed. This is where any pieces of the previous impeller will wind up, and the stack will typically be full with muck in some of the pipes.
Reminders:
When you are removing the brass stack from the case, take care not to harm any part of it. If the engine overheats when running at full power then cools down when the throttle is dropped, the heat exchanger is the first place to look. Also, remove the exhaust elbow and inspect the impeller pump for corrosion, leaks, and drips.
