Relays are electronic and mechanical switches used to close and open circuits. It controls the opening and closing of the circuit contacts in an electronic circuit. The relay is not energized when the relay contact is available (NO). Because of the security contact, the relay is not energized if it is closed (NC). The states change when energy (electricity or charge) is applied.
The relays have two primary functions: high voltage and low voltage applications. Arcing is reduced in high voltage applications, while overall circuit noise is reduced in common voltage applications.
